Meet the fruit
Outside, a smooth purple rind crowned by a green calyx. Inside, white, juicy, delicate segments, with a balance of sweetness and acidity reminiscent of lychee and peach.
Native to Southeast Asia, mangosteen found in Mariquita the climate to give a fruit with a recognised origin. It is eaten by hand: open the rind and the segments come out whole.
Garcinia mangostana
Mangosteen keeps ripening after it is picked from the tree. That is why logistics have to be fast: so the fruit arrives in the best condition.
We harvest, grade and ship almost the same day.
I run my family's farm in Mariquita and took part in building Asomangostino, the growers' association of Mariquita and neighbouring towns, because this fruit can be much more than a harvest.

From Mariquita to the most demanding markets in the world. We want anyone, in any country, who tastes a Mariquita mangosteen to know where it comes from and who grew it.
San Sebastián de Mariquita is part of the territory recognised under the Mariquita Mangosteen designation of origin.
For us, origin is not just an address. It is the land where this fruit is grown, picked and where its story is built.
About the designation of origin
Opening a mangosteen is a small ritual: the rind gives way and the segments appear, white and fragrant.
It is a fruit you enjoy with your hands and without hurry. Sweet and tart at once, fresh, unlike anything else. When someone tastes it for the first time, they understand why it is called the queen of fruits.

Sweet and tart at once. The segments are juicy and delicate, with notes reminiscent of lychee and peach.
By hand. Open the rind, which is purple and thick, and the white segments come out whole. The rind is not eaten.
Yes. It keeps ripening after it is picked from the tree. That is why we harvest, grade and ship almost the same day: so it arrives in the best condition.
We grade the fruit by size and weight, which is the minimum for export. Units per box depend on size and destination, and are agreed for each order.
Not fresh fruit: there is a single harvest a year, from January to April. If you need fresh mangosteen, write to us before the season starts so we can plan your order.
It is a perishable fruit and refrigeration is recommended. That is why our logistics are fast: we ship almost the same day it is harvested. Transport conditions are agreed by destination, and every shipment is recorded with its picking date and farm of origin.
One harvest a year. Four months of picking. Limited volumes.
If you need fresh mangosteen, the best time to talk is before the season starts.
